The final event of 2023 of the leading professional mixed martial arts (MMA) championship in Vietnam – LION Championship 11 was held on December 9 at Quan Ngua Sports Palace, Hanoi.
The focus of attention is on the title defense match between the reigning 65kg champion who won the ASIAD 2018 Wushu Tan Thu Bronze Medal Nghiem Van Y and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Felipe Ventzki Negochadle.
To advance to the title match, Negochadle had 3 consecutive victories against Nguyen Phuong Nam (LC07), Nguyen Nguyen Chuong (LC09) and Nguyen Tien Long (LC10).

The second match is the competition for the vacant 70kg championship between 20-year-old Dao Ban boxer Van Hoang and 40-year-old Vietnamese-Polish boxer Kamil Michal Nguyen Van.
For Kamil, this is the third opportunity for him to touch the championship belt after two defeats against former king Tran Quang Loc in the 2022 season finals and the LION Championship 06 event.
In the 84kg weight category, the championship belt was decided by two boxers of Tan Thu origin, the 2019 World Tan Thu silver medalist Pham Cong Minh and the national Tan Thu grandmaster.

Pham Cong Minh is the owner of the fastest victory in the LION Championship (15 seconds).
In the 60kg weight class, the championship left by Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat was decided by a match between Brazilian puncher Robson De Oliveira Soares and Bui Truong Sinh.
The Brazilian boxer is also the owner of a third-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The only women’s title match of the event was Duong Thi Thanh Binh’s defense of the 56kg championship against her opponent from Hungary – Bianka Balajti.
