If a seafood business has an idea for a more sustainable way to raise shrimp, or a start-up wants to use satellite technology to detect floods early, where can they go to connect with similar individuals and organizations?

This is the problem that the Center for Startup Collaboration on Climate Change – recently inaugurated at the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) by PTIT, the US Department of State and VMO Holdings Company – aims to

This center is hoped to be a `bridge for the business community`, where entrepreneurs can meet to collaborate in sustainable research areas such as clean energy, sustainable agriculture, and gas finance.

`We need emerging start-ups and entrepreneurs bringing tomorrow’s solutions to today’s market, and we need dedicated innovators applying existing climate solutions in new ways

`And I think there is no better place than Vietnam to find this ingenuity and innovation,` Ms. McAuliffe affirmed, noting that cooperation to fight climate change cannot just be cooperation between governments.

The opening ceremony of CCE Hub was held more than 2 weeks after Vietnam – the US upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and one content of that is cooperation on climate change.

Vietnam and the US will coordinate in the Mekong Delta and Red River Delta, in the areas of cross-sectoral adaptation to climate change;

`There are businesses in the seafood sector that want to modernize and digitalize the farming, handling and processing process. This center will be a catalyst connecting businesses and technology,` Mr. Trinh Thanh

`This center can help form initiatives, technical transfer projects or further research projects that can be applied to the operations of economic enterprises not only in Vietnam but also abroad.`

In addition to the opening of CCE Hub, PTIT, the US Department of State, and VMO Holdings also signed a memorandum of cooperation on the morning of September 27.

The Climate Change Entrepreneurship Collaborative (CCE) is a public-private partnership to address the climate crisis and contribute to the economic empowerment of developing countries, through nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship.

The world’s first CCE Hub opened in Accra, Ghana in February in collaboration with chip design firm ARM and Academic City University.

Within the framework of cooperation with relevant parties, CCE Hub in Ghana has taken the first steps to support the development of a start-up ecosystem to combat climate change in the country, such as the Climate Technology Accelerator program.

Alex Kruzel – CEO of consulting company Telesto Strategy (USA), one of the participants in the CTA organization – said that this program just ended 2 weeks ago and has selected 6 start-ups `with significant potential`.

`Although it is still quite early to talk about the results because it still takes time, one of the 6 start-ups in the CCE group has reached the top 200 global start-ups chosen by TechCrunch to participate in the event (TechCrunch Disrupt) in San Francisco.
