The US supports Ho Chi Minh City to promote green growth 0

(Dan Tri) – USAID and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City have launched a project to promote renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency to address urban energy challenges.

On September 20, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City launched a project to promote renewable energy solutions and efficient energy use to solve the problem.

Attending the launching ceremony today, September 20, were USAID Vietnam Director Aler Grubbs, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Vo Van Hoan, Acting US Consul General Graham Harlow, Director of the City Department of Industry and Trade.

The United States and Vietnam are approaching the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Partnership, and today’s event is a testament to our cooperation to address the growing need for cleaner energy solutions.

A new project called Vietnam Urban Distributed Energy Technical Assistance funded by USAID with a budget of 14 million USD will cooperate with the authorities of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City to improve planning.

These solutions include rooftop solar power, electric vehicles, waste power and other energy efficiency solutions.

The project launched today builds on USAID’s support for Vietnam over the past years as Vietnam transitions to clean energy.
