Information from the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police – Hanoi City Police) said that at around 9:05 a.m. on May 22, there was a congestion in the 3-way Belt area from Hoang Mai district to Phu Dong bridge.

The cause of the congestion was determined to be a traffic accident that occurred in the area between Thanh Tri bridge, Hoang Mai district (Hanoi).
The accident was determined to be due to a white Mazda car with license plate number 30A – 895.xx (driver’s identity unknown) suddenly bursting in the middle of the bridge.
At the scene, the car turned sideways, blocking the road for motorbikes and non-motorized vehicles.
Currently, traffic police have guided vehicles from the direction of Ring Road 3 to turn to Nguyen Khoai dike road in the direction of Vinh Tuy bridge to resolve congestion in the area.

Previously, on April 17, a truck traveling on Thanh Tri bridge suddenly lost control, crashed into the median strip, causing the iron bars connecting the concrete blocks to fly out and injuring two passengers.
Thanh Tri Bridge was started construction on January 30, 2002 and put into use in 2007. The bridge is 3,084 m long, 33.1 m wide, has 4 lanes with a design speed of 100 km/h.
By 2022, the bridge will have been in use for 15 years.
