As of chapter 1012, Detective Conan has given readers a fairly long list of new characters who could be RUM – the person known as No.2 of the Black Organization.
RUM was first mentioned in chapter 898 of manga volume 85. When Shuichi Akai (in the guise of Subaru Okiya) called two agents Jodie Starling and Andre Camel to Kudo’s house.
After that, scattered from chapters 906 to 1012, some more important information about RUM is gradually revealed.
Currently, three characters are most mentioned because of the high possibility of being disguised by RUM due to having the same trait of losing one eye: Hyoue Kuroda, Rumi Wakasa and Kanenori Wakita.
Hyoue Kuroda
Hyoue Kuroda once went missing and one of his right eyes was a prosthetic eye – RUM’s most prominent feature.
However, the theory that Hyoue Kuroda is RUM is being shaken as the author has revealed many hints that he is more similar to Amuro’s PSB boss.
Rumi Wakasa
Teacher Wakasa is the most suspicious character because her name evokes the line `ASACA RUM`.
Rumi Wakasa has many suspicious actions, but because the hints are so obvious, this character may just be created by author Gosho Aoyama to distract readers.
Kanenori Wakita
In terms of appearance, this character also has the suspicious feature of having a fake eye.
Although there are many suspects, whoever RUM is, the appearance of this character also shows that the author will soon bring readers a thrilling story arc on par with the story arc of Shuichi Akai faking his death in volume 58.
