Chelsea fans hailed Thiago Silva as irreplaceable after the Brazilian announced he would leave the club at the end of the season.
The 39-year-old is in the final months of his contract with Stamford Bridge, and will end his four-year career at the Blues after the season ends.
Silva confirmed the decision in a touching farewell message to fans today (April 29), in which he shared his `indescribable love` for the London club
Chelsea fans were quick to express their gratitude to the veteran defender following his contributions and achievements at the club, including winning the 2021 Champions League and Club World Cup.

“An irreplaceable person,” one supporter wrote on Twitter.
“He came from PSG, to win the Champions League.
Another commented: “Appreciate the way you expressed your farewell.
In a message sent to supporters via Chelsea’s website, Silva shared: `Chelsea means a lot to me.
My sons play football here so I’m very proud to be part of the Chelsea family – actually because my sons are all here.
I think in everything I’ve done here in my four years, I’ve always given it my all.
The veteran defender has made 34 appearances for the London team this season.
The 39-year-old defender continued: `It’s difficult to say goodbye in normal situations, and when there is love between the two sides, it is even more difficult.
It was a dream, definitely a dream.
Goodbyes are only for those who leave and don’t come back.
It is known that the Chelsea fan group – We Are The Shed is preparing a special tribute for the final match at Stamford Bridge of the season – when the Blues meet Bournemouth on May 19.
It remains to be seen whether Silva will play his final game for the Blues, after he suffered a groin injury at the end of last weekend’s draw with Aston Villa.
